How Net Energy Metering Works

Bangladesh has introduced NEM services in 2018 with certain guidelines and we will discuss those guidelines and how it will benefit us in this section.

How NEM Operates:

Step 1: Sun rays generate electricity and stores the energy on grid/battery for on-grid/hybrid or off gird models.

Step 2: Converted and stored energy is now ready to use for home or commercial use. Note: On-grid works only when grid line is available. Off-grid or hybrid paired with batteries works even when gridline is not supplying electricity.

Step 3: Any extra energy generated through the solar system will be sent back to grid which will start crediting as per energy supplied. Electricity bill for next month will be adjusted with credits applied for current months energy generation.

Step 4: Cash credit will be provided if any user is on net credit at end of the year on 33KV bulk compensation method. You can also calculate your NEM through this government page link.
